Food is the fabric of our lives and at the center of every culture. When anyone thinks of dieting they immediately think of having to give up enjoying food and eating unappealing and tasteless meals. I have been on every diet imaginable, taken pills, I even drank those awful diet shakes; Metrical back in the 70’s to lose weight. After years of trial and error, I’ve finally discovered that none of that works. Losing weight naturally is not about what is on the fork going into your mouth, it is about how you think about the food you eat.
It is my desire to help people understand that they have control of their weight and learn how they can eliminate diets forever. Changing your thoughts and beliefs begins with knowing that being overweight is not about your appearance.
A new television series, “Big Sexy” was created because several large-sized women were irritated that the focus of the fashion industry was only on thin models. The show focuses on these women’s great life despite their weight problems. Because this show is focused on whether a man chooses to be with a large woman rather than skinny one, being overweight comes off as only being aesthetic, and not the life threatening health problem it is.
Being overweight is about serious medical conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, cancer, cholesterol, gall bladder disease, gout and breathing problems. It is about marbled fat settling in your organs and deep within your muscles. It is about modern society relying on medication to resolve their weight-related medical conditions instead of making an effort to lose weight and improve their health naturally.
Life is too short to spend it dieting and failing then giving up. There is a happy medium based on common sense and taking control of what you eat instead of food being in control of you. If you are tired of dieting and you want to take charge of your health, then today is the day to begin. You will feel better, enjoy meals and learn simple ways to stop yourself from falling off the wagon.
When you make the decision to take control of your food intake, the first step will be to change the way you think about yourself. It is common human behavior to find fault with oneself, how you look, how tall or short you are. There is always something wrong with what you see in the mirror. Great self-esteem is your desired outcome.
Step 1: You have to learn to love, value and accept yourself just as you are. You have to recognize that you are here for a reason and begin to enjoy who you are. This step will take a while, but take as long as you need because this step is a big one. However, if you want to stop the diet roller coaster, it will mean taking charge of your self-image.
To begin to transform your health, each day when you get up get in front of a mirror, (if you live with other people, be sure you are alone),look directly into your eyes and say, “I love you” to you. This is will definitely be a challenge for anyone to do, but it can be done. I know I have been through this myself. When you can say it without tearing up, wincing or closing your eyes you will be ready for the step two.
