1. Laugh until it hurts- Laughing is contagious and brings you immediate happiness and joy. Check out a laughing yoga class, it is a great way to let go and laugh until it hurts.
2. Appreciation- when you feel true appreciation in your heart it automatically brings happiness into your soul. Appreciation makes us happy to be alive.
3. Give-I am sure you have heard of the saying it is better to give than receive? If you what more happiness right now than start giving; giving makes us feel a part of something bigger than ourselves and when you feel that it automatically brings more happiness into your life. When you give to others you give to yourself.
4. Just do it- It is easy to make excuses on why you can’t do the things you want to do but they are only excuses created by you, which means you can change them. Your life is not just about work and survival it is also about enjoyment, peace and love, by doing what you want in life brings those elements to you. Your life is your creation so make it something that brings you happiness right now!
5. Be outside- If you spend most of your time inside, than chances are you have grown accustom to being in the safely of a box. Spend more time outside and it will broaden your comfort zone and bring you closer to nature. All humans are connected to the earth, allow yourself to explore that connection and by doing so, you will be happier.
6. Throw out safely- If you are living a very cautious life, you are instilling fear into your mind. Start small and step out of your comfort zone and choose one fear at a time and confront it.
7. Be less graded- It is important to protect your feelings but if this protect is stopping you from fully allowing yourself to feel love and trust than you are being too graded. Tell yourself it is ok to fully love and trust other, if they let you down, you are strong enough to handle it. It is more important to have loved and lost, than to have never loved at all.
8. Clean out your closet- If you have not done this already you need to do it now. Clean out your closet and get rid of stuff that you have not worn in over a year. Yes, this does include clothes from high school. Holding on to memories are great but you don’t need a jacket or dress you wore bank in the day, to do it.
9. Be creative- We all have creatively inside of us whether it is, if you have not done something creative in a while than think about what you can do to explore your creative side. Do an art project that you have wanted to do or go out dancing, spend some time singing, do something that is fun and creative to you.
10. Change routine- Sometimes we just need a change in routine to find the happiness we need right now. Routines can be great but, if you have routines that are not healthy to your mind, body or spirit, than you should change them. Maybe you just need to allow yourself to be free from your normal routine all together and break away for a while?
11. Be more physical- it is no secret that being more physical releases endorphins that make us feel good. If you what happiness right now than go release some endorphins.
Bonus Tip: Have sex- Ok I don’t normally talk about sex in my writing but this is a bonus tip. If you’re in a relationship and things are a little stagnate in the sex department then it is time. Having sex brings back a physical, mental and spiritual connection and it also releases endorphins in the body.
