You’re unique, just like everyone else. There has never been anyone like you and there never will be. After a long day the only thing you bear in mind when you rest your head on your pillow is how you feel. Feelings are everything. They are the body’s response to thoughts in the mind. Daily happenings take a back seat to feelings. Thoughts visit temporarily, but feelings linger indefinitely. You cannot get rid of them even if you try. Feelings instigate your mindset, and navigate your perception of reality from the helm of their powerful ship. Feelings can make you buoyant or cause you to submerge in life’s ocean of possibilities. Water is one of the most powerful forms on the planet. It symbolizes our ability to go with the flow and succeed, or to remain stagnant in our ways and fail for lack of adaptation. Feelings determine how you will navigate on your voyage of this life. Sink or swim, the choice resides in you. Feelings have a hold on you, but you have control over them.
You have the power to make everyday, every week, and every year a fine one. The ability resides in your head and always has. Your experience on Earth is determined by what’s happening inside your mind. The continual voice in your head controls everything in your physical experience, and you are in command of this voice. Patterns in the words of your internal monologue form images which we identify as thoughts. This is an exclusive human condition. These thoughts define your experience.
Each new encounter breeds reflection on past experiences. We cannot help but to remember. Like a recipe book, you look for the ingredients used in the past to recreate the familiar. You look for similarities and find sameness even if it requires a stretch. When you view the potential of your ability as strength, positive thoughts fill your head. And in doing so, you summon power. “I can do it. I’ve done it before and I can do it. I am strong”. When you view the potential of your ability as a weakness, negative thoughts fill your head. And in doing so, you sabotage yourself. “Who am I kidding? I can’t do this. I have never been able to do anything like this ever before.” You have thrown in your towel before the situation even transpires.
You can overcome an obstacle if you think you can and you can’t if you think you can’t. Your thoughts always ring true. Just as we can predict what happens to a ball when we throw it in the air, we can predict the outcome of every encounter with almost perfect certainty. You’re always right because your thoughts tell you so. It’s the message you give yourself that matters.
See if you can change what happens by visualizing both successful and failing outcomes to recognize your ability. When you imagine yourself succeeding, you feel on top of the world, and ready to embrace future endeavors. By thinking from the result and imagining yourself as a success, you summon the needed energy and occurrences to accomplish your task. Feel your body grow in strength and power. When you imagine yourself failing, you feel small and down in the dumps, wanting to hide from future endeavors. By imagining yourself as a failure, you fail to summon the energy needed to accomplish your task. Feel the weakness in your body. Both potentials are possible in every situation you hold in your mind.
Each and every experience you encounter embraces the potential for present and future successes. And each experience you encounter breeds the potential for present and future failures; all outcomes are determined in your mind. The mind’s influence overshadows every situation because each and every cell of your body communicates with the thoughts in your mind.
Few people realize that it is not what happens in our life that’s important, but rather how we think about what happens that decides our future. While Webster defines reality as true to life, the fact of the matter is reality is always and conclusively what we think it is. My reality… I’m living an amazing life...received my Master’s Degree from UCLA in Education, mother of 4, wife, non-fiction writer, inspirational entrepreneur, self-actualizer, CEO of a non-profit. I’ve studied the phenomenon of thought and perceptions for more than fifteen years. I've written and published 4 books with more on the way. I’m motivated to help others learn to navigate their perceptions of reality to create exactly the kind of life they’ve always imagined. We can’t depend on external circumstances for lasting happiness, it has to come from within. Each of us is in control of our own destinies.
