Miss America Talent Award Winner Sandy Kastel knows all about the impact of life choices. Her life has been a series of detours, taking her on an incredible journey as a singer, songwriter, producer and founder of WIMA Women in Music and Arts "Empowering Artists of All Ages through Education and Mentorship"
She has two upcoming books slated for 2010, Detours and Miss America, What it takes to Win the Crown, in which she shares an inside look at the road traveled in pursuit of her dreams.
In Detours she talks of choices made in her own life, sharing the self-help methods and tools that can make a difference when making life transitions.
In her book, Miss America, What it takes to Win the Crown, Sandy reveals an inside story based on her own journey from local beauty queen to the stage of the Miss America Pageant, her experiences with the process, as a State Representative, as a judge and as a coach to young women pursuing the title.
Interviewing Miss America Pageant officials, the volunteers, the judges and the young women who competed, Sandy weaves together an exciting journal of hopes and dreams with a well-constructed program for those who have hopes of becoming the next in line to Win the Crown.
Sandy is a member of the National Association of Songwriters, The Recording Academy and BMI, continuing to provide her talents and efforts to support the work of numerous charitable organizations such as Jerry Lewis Telethon, Children's Miracle Network, Disabled Veterans, Safe Nest, our Police and Firefighters, National Hot Rod Association's DRAW, Omni-Eqqus Equine Foundation and Save the Wild Horses.
