My name is Oralia Martinelli, owner and founder of The Pilates Retreat.  I am the Certified Pilates Instructor for our studio.  In 2004 I began Pilates when I decided to attend Body Arts and Science International (BASI) in Costa Mesa, California.  I enrolled in the Comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training under Master Pilates Instructor Rael Isacowitz and received my BASI certification in 2008.

Ever since then, I have been in love with with the form, beauty, and precision of the Pilates movements.  It became obvious to me that Pilates was not simply a twice a week exercise but an important part of my life.

I pursued advanced training at J.L. Body Conditioning in Del Mar, California, where I received my second certification as a Full-Apparatus Instructor.  I was then fortunate to apprenticeship under another Master Pilates Instructor, Julian Littleford.  There I gained valuable experience working with very diverse populations, such as the elderly, post-rehab patients, prenatal and postnatal women and stroke victims.
