Author of HabitForce!, All the World’s A Podium, and The Almanac of European Politics (Congressional Quarterly Books), Matthew Cossolotto spent eight years on Capitol Hill, working as a speechwriter and special assistant to then-speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Jim Wright and as legislative assistant to then-Representative and former White House chief-of-staff Leon Panetta.
Matthew’s multifaceted communications career also includes senior-level speechwriting and executive communications positions at MCI Communications, GTE, and Pepsi-Cola International. In 1996, Matthew formed Ovations International (“Home of the Standing O®”), providing clients with a range of executive communications services, including speechwriting, speech coaching, and Podium Power workshops.
Matthew is the author of HabitForce! – “The User’s Guide for Your Personal Operating System.” Based on the breakthrough concepts contained in HabitForce!, Matthew has created a series of FAILURE-Proof Your Life programs for people who want to escape from self-defeating FAILURE Traps and get on the SUCCESS Track.
Matthew is the author of All The World’s A Podium – “The Manifesto for the Authentic Speaking Revolution.” In the book, Matthew condenses years of high-profile leadership communications experience into a handy, how-to guide for speaking success. He has created a series of Podium Power programs for people who want to banish the fear of public speaking and for leaders who want to boost their careers by reaching their Peak Podium Potential.
Over the years, Matthew has developed speeches and/or coached speakers for a variety of prestigious venues, including the Economic Club of Detroit, the National Press Club, Houston Forum, Cleveland City Club, SuperComm, the Microsoft CEO Summit, and the UN General Assembly. In 1991, Matthew helped found The Center for Voting and Democracy (www.fairvote.org) and served as its president and board chair for five years.
