I have lived my entire life of 57 years on the shores of Lake Superior in Northwestern Ontario. I have farmed and been a logger all of my life and so have spent much of my time outdoors. My passions include hunting, fishing, hiking, boating, camping and snowshoeing in the forests here in the Boreal Forest on the Canadian Shield. We have four children, (one deceased) and five grandchildren that are the lights of our lives.
I spent about 20 years in municipal politics, 6 of those as reeve (mayor). I have been instrumental in organizing and leading several community projects including but not limited to an Economic Development Committee, a fund raising committee for a covered ice surface and a hiking trail.
People who know me best will say I am easy to work with, always have a positive attitude and just don't know the meaning of "it can't be done" or "we have never done it that way."
I have taken several personal development courses, including some from Bob Proctor, and truely believe that my life is exactly what I make it. In other words, I am willing to take complete responsibility for my position in life.
My wife of 33 years lives with me on our family farm in Dorion, Ont. (Near Thunder Bay)
