Elizabeth’s passion is helping clients to recognise the power they hold over their own health, happiness and life. Her own life experiences coupled with years of working with people facing serious illness allows her to support people using a mixture of wisdom and compassion.
Following the completion of a degree in biochemistry, Elizabeth trained at the Institute for Optimum Nutrition to become a nutritional therapist. After qualifying in 2000 she immediately focused her work on the area of cancer support and has continued to specialise in this area. She completed her Masters degree in Nutritional Medicine at the University of Surrey in 2007.
Elizabeth spent seven years working as the Senior Nutritional Therapist for the leading UK charity Penny Brohn Cancer Care and worked for the breast cancer charity The Haven for two years. She produced the current healthy eating guidelines for both charities. She has also consulted for and advised other UK cancer charities on nutritional issues, including The Prostate Cancer Charity.
Elizabeth has lectured on various subjects related to nutrition at several colleges and spoken at scientific conferences. She also regularly writes articles for magazines and has contributed to scientific papers related to nutrition and cancer. Elizabeth wrote the nutrition chapter for the book Enhancing cancer care, complementary therapy and support edited by Jennifer Barraclough and published by Oxford University Press.
Elizabeth is a graduate of the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice course and is a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT). She is fully insured to practice as a Nutritional Therapist.
