Looking at the devil in the eyes was hard enough.....
There were times when I just hated the thought of going out to meet new people for the sake of sponsoring. I thought "How sneaky and deceptive can one be to go out and extend out your hand for the sake of luring them into your MLM trap" It was a thing I considered devious and sly. I mean think about it, I wasn't there to make a real connection with them, I was there to get their contact information in the hopes of adding a leg (it's MLM term for sponsoring someone new) and if it didn't work out, well, I just forgot about that person and moved on hunting others like him/her. How's that for building relationships? After 3 years of doing the same thing and getting nowhere faster than you can say "go". I started to hate network marketing. I needed something to blame and so, I became one of those very people I so hate listening to. Those people that whine and complain because they were the victims of some sort of MLM scheme. They complain that MLM doesn't work and that all MLM's are there to rip you off, because according to their experience they spent countless amounts of money on the system and in business expenses - because that's what their uplines told them to do. Yep, that was me, self-loathing, self-indulging and for no good reason. One day - after many months of introspection and listening to Abraham-hicks, Jane Roberts and other wonderfully enlightened people - I rolled out of bed and went over to the bathroom to clean my face. I looked at myself in the mirror, I was admiring my beauty (yeah, yeah... I know ;-) ) when I realized I was staring straight in the eyes of the devil. it hit me, like a ton of bricks, that my attitude and integrity were the ones to blame for my failure in any business!
"Oh my god! how could I have missed it?" I thought. All my life I knew about the Law of Attraction and how that played an integral part of our lives but I never connected the dots. the Law of Attraction simply says that your dominant thoughts are beacons that attract like energy. So, I mentally traveled back in time and discovered that my dominant (voluntary or not) thought processes were "negative" or at least holding me back in some way. Thoughts like:
"Oh, god. Here we go again. Recruiting people. I feel sorry for them"
"What the hell, I hate being here! I hate tricking people!"
"God, why can't I be more charismatic, I really don't have what it takes to be a top leader"
All these thoughts, and lots more, were constantly playing in my head. Regardless of whether they were there for a second of a day made no difference. Because if you understand anything about the LOA you know that thoughts, even a new born thought only needs a few seconds of pure energy to create or attract another like thought. This creates a snowball effect until those thoughts consume your subconscious and conscious mind. Thus materializing in this physical plane.
I almost keeled over! I felt so silly... All this time. I was doing things that were in some level pulling me out of alignment and on another level were not resonating with me. And all this time I was pointing my finger at the Devilish companies and uplines, blaming them for my failures when all this time I was sleeping with the devil - I was looking straight at her though my bathroom mirror.
Aha! what a great feeling when you finally figure out who's to blame!
"you!" I yelled at the top of my lounges. "I can't believe it! and here I was thinking you were intentionally creating your reality!" The face behind the mirror seemed to mimic what I was saying. It was no use, the damage was done. I had listened to other "traditional MLM leaders" instead of my own intuition and experience. Even though I have a background in marketing, I never thought to implement my knowledge in this type of business because after all, MLM is an unconventional form of business. Or so, I've been told..
'Tis was then, that I stopped blaming my uplines, or MLM companies or even their business compensation plans. None of that mattered. None of them were to blame because success in a business isn't about a great product, or joining a great business or great compensation plans, it's about great attitude, great integrity with self, great intuition and great marketing.
Along came Reason.
Due to my epiphany, I dedicated my time to consuming all things Marketing for the unconventional and conventional business. I read books written by Gurus such as Ann Sieg, Mike Dillard, Ferny Ceballos, Dan Kennedy, The King, Bill Glazer, Ted Nicholas, Robert Kiyosaki, Ari Galper, Charles Heflin, Raymond Fong, Claude Hopkins, Jay Conrad, Andy Sernovitz and many others.
In my search for information and leadership, I found a wealth of systems that were dedicated to assisting my every marketing need. But what's a system without the very principles that opened my eyes and allowed me to take responsibility for my life and business?
Think and grow rich...
And that's where I am now. Dedicating my time and effort to helping people bridge the gap between making a buck (all action) and materializing the buck (planting the mental seed for the buck) as well as detaching themselves from economic slavery and gaining their sovereignty through knowledge and privacy.
