Commited to your empowerment, access to proven approaches for self help, and facilitating your discovery of a contendted life my own varied life experiences have given me a well rounded understanding of life. I've been a truck driver, worked in a feed lot with cattle, a community organizer, managed and owned restaurants, a disc jockey, salesman, worked in the funeral industry, a behind the scenes political advisor, and more.
Throughout life I've maintained an intense interest in people, the human condition, and spirituality. Because of this later in life I finally decided that it was time for a formal education and choose social work for my undergraduate work and went on to seminary for a graduate degree in religion.
The last 15 years of my social work practice has been invested in work as both an individual and group therapist. While working with a wide variety of people I also took on the challenges of program design, development, implimentation, and management.
Now retired yet active I am free to independently pursue my areas of expertise. As I continue to write, offer support, and empowerment at the top of that list is my web site which really a culmination of all my professional career. It serves as a vehicle for me to remain involved in something I care a great deal about.
I incorporate a well accepted and emperically supported approach called Acceptance & Commitment Thewrapy (ACT). I approach the ACT process from two vantage points. First as a professional; secondly, after spending many years working within the Christian religious community, I beleive that ACT has a strong spiritual component.
Never preachy but always aware that for some lifes journey has many mysterious elements to it. These elements are best described as a part of our spiritual side.
The primary motivation for my current work is the realization that, for a variety of reasons, many people will never seek out professional help. They'll continue to suffer in private affecting both themselves and those around them. It's time for the suffering to stop.
If any of this rings true for you I welcome your contacting me. It's my sole purpose to help you rediscover what life is meant to be.
Very active in the areas of self-help and personal imporvement providing two resource-filled websites, ebooks, blogging, and other resources.
Why do bad things happen to good people? It's the price of admission to life.
A truism: It was the Jewish philosopher & Hasidic theologian Martin Buber who wrote in "I - Thou" that when you engaged another you were communicating with God
