I grew up always being athletic- very active in sports. When I was 17, I tore my ACL. All said and done I have had 4 surgeries on my left knee and at the time of my last surgery, the doctors told me that my best option for activity was to bike. For every other activity that I was used to doing (golf, soccer, surfing, skiing), they gave me reasons why I couldnt do it and how I could reinjure myself if I did. Biking, wasnt enough. When I went to college, I stopped being active all together. I started to eat unhealthily. On a 5'3" frame, my heaviest weight was 199lbs.
I finally got so sick of being overweight, and after many attempts to lose weight on my own, only to have them fall through, I joined at 24hr fitness and started to see a trainer. I can now say that over the course of a year, I lost 60lbs, and currently weigh 137lbs. I now know that anything is possible, and if I can help other people see their own goals, and dreams realized, then that is a great day :)
