He worked in sports medicine during the mid 1980's and was a Personal Exercise Trainer concurrently. He completed his training as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1991, graduating from Cleveland Chiropractic College of Los Angeles. In 1996 he earned his postgraduate board certification as a Certified Clinical Nutritionist through the International and American Associations of Clinical Nutritionists (IAACN). In 2000 he earned board certification as an Anti-Aging Health Care Practitioner through the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M). In 2003, he completed training in Functional Medicine with the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM).
