Even though Apple is not always the bravest company when it comes to smartphone design, it certainly plays an important role in managing a newer design element. But even many years after popularizing notches and thus radicalization of standard telephone display designs, Apple has not thrown it completely and chooses smaller pieces for the camera on the iPhone. The iPhone 14 Pro variant, which was launched later this year, will potentially become the first iPhone series that spread a much smaller pieces instead of notch. Meanwhile, Apple is now predicted to eliminate the appearance of the display at all in 2024 and launched an iPhone 16 with a front facade of all screens with facial ID sensors and selfie cameras hidden underneath.
The famous Apple supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said the iPhone
16 would be the "actual full screen iPhone." He also stressed that only "upscale iPhone" will adopt selfie under-display camera and hidden face fit fitment. The specifications of this implementation are unclear, but Kuo predictions are parallel to the famous appearance of Ross Young, which had previously been tweeting
about the Under-Display facial ID.
Kuo's latest prediction adds previous records about Apple interesting plans to re-introduce the touch ID on the upcoming iPhone. Analysts say that because FACE ID with masks working smoothly on the iPhone 12 and newer devices, Apple might want to avoid adding less display fingerprint scanners, instead of choosing directly to the lower face ID unit. In particular, the company reportedly tested the touch ID
on the iPhone 13 but then dropped the plan after not satisfied with the results.
Kuo previously recorded Apple's decision to delay the introduction of the camera below the screen until the iPhone 16 was a decision driven by marketing and "less than a technical problem." Understandably, Apple's leading supplier for Display LTPO iPhone - Samsung - hasn't introduced a selfie under-display camera in the Galaxy S flagship smartphone lineup with glass panels on the screen. This feature is currently limited to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, which is equipped with a flexible display. Other smartphones that offer selfie under-display cameras include Xiaomi Mix 4 and ZTE Axon 30.
Kuo also revealed details about the significant increase that came to the iPhone selfie camera before all types of down screen settings. According to him, all iPhone 14 models will display the front camera which is upgraded with autofocus as a significant increase in a fixed focus camera on the iPhone 13. It will increase focus ability while taking selfies and during video calls with a face.
He added that the iPhone 14 model is also likely to display a larger F / 1.9 aperture compared to the F / 2.2 aperture on several iPhone variants 13. Larger openings than the selfie camera will allow iPhone 14 users to take better selfies by increasing depth Shallow fields and better low light responses.
In particular, smaller cutouts for the front camera and face ID on the upcoming iPhone 14 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max was revealed recently through a leaky scheme. Apple seems to still plan to retain notches on more affordable iPhone 14 standards.
