We see the outer world through our open eyes and when we close them, and look into our inner Self, through our third eye, it is called a state of Meditation. There are thousands and thousands of thoughts running through our mind every second and the gap between the two consecutive thoughts is too tiny. When we do meditation, the frequency of the thoughts decrease gradually and the gap between the two consecutive thoughts increase and is more frequent. This gap is nothing but Meditation.

What is the aim of doing Meditation?

We are living in a world which is full of stress and sufferings. Each and every person is surrounded with some or the other problem. The solution may not always be in our hands. However, what is there in our hands is our attitude to view our problems. When we change it, the problem may appear very insignificant. How do we change our attitude from negative to positive? It is quite simple. When we are inside the problem, an integral part of it, it appears very large and difficult. We have to first remove ourselves from the centre and observe the whole dilemma from a third person’s point of view. How can we achieve this feat? -- Through meditation methods.

There are various techniques of doing meditation and one very effective way to do it, is by just observing our thoughts passing through our mind. This way, we become the third party and the same method can be employed in solving our problems. Meditation is one of the best techniques to bring about a peaceful change in our thoughts and life pattern. The galloping thoughts starts calming down to a comfortable pace and gradually a state of mind which will be devoid of any thoughts will be attained. This is our main aim- a state of calm and peace-a meditative state of mind.
