1) Note Genesis 1 – In the Genesis creation story, allegorical as it is, the words “God Said” are repeatedly used. The emphasis is on “said” instead of created, thought or did. Why? From the void comes everything. Space is not empty and useless. Without space there could be no stars planets, galaxies and universes. Space is more analogous to God than any thing.

Some scientists now see the capacity as the source. But as both the capacity and its active state are in space-time, as two poles of one spectrum, many agree there is another form of energy – sometimes called subtle energy – the unseen and unfelt force activated by conscious intent that serves as the transforming medium. E.F. Shumaker in his little book, A Guide for the Perplexed, writes about the law of adequatio. He is referring to our adequacy to receive. He points out that we cannot pour a 5 gallon jug of water into a quart jar. We can pour it in but the quart jar is only going to retain a quart of the water and the rest will end up on the ground. The lesson is that in order to receive more than what we are adequate to receive now we must expand our receptacle. In other words, we must have the space.

Our conscious intent is a more effective in the process of creation and living a creative life than any activity or mechanical process whether intelligent or not. The three steps in creation of which we are a part are 1) conceptualize, 2) Energize and 3) actualize. This is the creative process described in Genesis 1 and it is our process in the continuing process of creation, 1) idea, 2) motion or energy (Intent stated) and 3) Form or manifestation.

John 1:1 – In the beginning was the Word. Here the author is attempting to equate Jesus with the creative Word but these first verses of the Gospel of John literally define the process of creation. The writer is saying that not only was the Word present in the beginning with the Creative Force that it is part of or is God. He goes on to say that nothing was created without this Word.

Our stated intent is far more powerful than we typically think. We generally think of such a statement by most people as being grandiose are bragging. Some says, “I am going to be a movie star. And for that person we say, best of luck but in our hearts we feel like we know that it is a lot more difficult than they think and they will soon find they were not too realistic. This is our thinking but fortunately for the person who said this our think has nothing to do with their creative process. What the mind of man can conceive and believe it can achieve. Whether they make it or not to some degree depends on their talent but even more importantly it is a matter of whether they believe their statement or not.

We use words for communication but the powerful effect in the creative process often remains an unused asset. We are more concerned with words than we are with the picture which is the creative process of realizing what the Word represents.

The defining of words are all-important for complete and accurate communications. The premiere thing I want a student to understand is what I want to communicate, but I want it to be a correct definition. An individual or group intent on getting their message to people simply want to do that – get their message across. However, each religious or philosophical group tends to put their slant on the meaning of a word. It is not always an outright distortion but the slant can be just as damaging. A definition may be inaccurate but if the student understands what the teacher is trying to communicate, his objective has been reached.

4) It is not only a matter of what a dictionary says a word means, it is what it has come to mean to people. It may have come to have a certain meaning because “the powers that be”, the Church, the intellectuals or the celebrities said that this is what a word means. To the communicator, the primary objective is to get across his message. Many teachers manage this with symbolism and others deliberately use a word they know doesn’t mean what they say it does because that is what their audience thinks it means. Powerful institutions, such as churches, political parties, government agencies and the media coin words and phrases and give them their meaning. It is also true that the same word may have more than one meaning depending upon the institution.

I attempt to stay with the accepted meaning but in many cases the meaning has become tarnished by incorrect usages to the point that one can’t communicate properly using the proper word. For this reason I provide a fairly extensive glossary with each book. In my glossaries I tell the reader what I mean by a particular word. Even if it is not exactly the way it is used by people in my field of study or what the dictionary says, the reader knows what I mean when I use the word. I cannot allow ambiguity because it would not be an honest or accurate communication.
