When it comes to work, and life in general, knowing how to say no to certain requests is crucial. If you are not turning down some requests, you will suddenly find yourself under a lot of pressure from all the work you have agreed to handle.
Don't get me wrong. I am not talking about helping other people out because you want to perform genuine acts of service. What I am talking about here is when you find it difficult to say no because you do not want to "let people down".
If you are one of the many people who are suffering from this issue, it is important for you to realize that it is only your perception of reality that is making it difficult for you to say no to people. And this can be overcome with EFT.
This article assumes that you already know the basics of EFT. However, if you don't, it's ok. EFT can be easily learned in about 10 minutes. Just scroll down and go to my website. You'll find a section there that you will teach you how to use EFT. It is a very valuable skill to add to your self-help skill set.
You probably already know that it is sometimes perfectly fine to turn down other peoples' requests. You see other people turning down requests because they really do not have the time for taking on more responsibilities. Even though you can see this clearly, you might still wonder sometimes why you still find it difficult to say no when YOU are too busy.
A general EFT set up statement you can use to overcome this issue is: "Even though I am finding it difficult to say no, I deeply and completely accept myself".
A reminder phrase could be "It's difficult to say no". Say this while tapping the rest of points.
However, since it is more effective to be specific when you are using EFT, I would highly recommend that you try more precise set up statements. In order to come up with such set up statements, ask yourself why you are not saying no. Come up with as many answers as possible. Then use these answers in your set up statements. Another good question to ask yourself is "What do I think would happen if I say no?". Use these answers for set up statements as well.
For example, you might come tell your self: "If I turn down this request, my colleague would think I'm a lazy employee". Tap on this! If you are really too busy at work, then you probably not a lazy employee, and it would be better for you to rid yourself of this limiting fear.
Go ahead and experiment with different set up statements to use while tapping. Eventually, if you are persistent, you will learn how to say no whenever you need to, and you will find it very easy to do so. When you are able to do that, you will feel a lot more comfortable at work.
I love helping people overcome any limiting belief that is holding them back from reach their potential. I do this by using EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). My website is always updated with free articles on EFT and personal development.
