When I was doing some soul searching recently, I truly had to ponder what I was going to do with my life. I have spent the past few years in transition from making 6 figures in top AM Law 100 law firms as a Litigation Support Project Manager in New York City to earning enough to get by on in rural New Mexico. I had decided to become a business/life coach, took coach training and earned a MBA. I started a small business consulting firm in New York City across from the Empire State Building. Just as I was about to turn the corner with the business, my world was shaken with family deaths and family illness. I returned back to New Mexico to be closer to family I hadn’t been around much for 20 years. Though I had offers to return back to New York City, which by the way I deeply love, I felt I needed to take some time out for family.

I found myself in a rural area of New Mexico not familiar with coaching, advanced technology or open to exploring different Spiritual paths. I had to re-invent myself. I figured with all of the economic changes in the past few years, I wasn’t alone. I could either find a job where my heart wasn’t in it or have the courage to take a leap of faith.

I have spent my life on a Spiritual journey and needed to figure out how I could earn a living while following what I believe to be my calling. I love business and I thrive on seeing people succeed in their own businesses, as well as in their personal lives. Somehow there had to be an answer to both.

Hence, one night it came to me. Why not create a coaching program to transform people’s passions (life purposes) into launching and running a successful business on purpose? So, I ordered the domain name A Business On Purpose and set out to fulfill my vision.

I threw myself into doing what I do best which is launching a new venture. I began writing programs on businesses: launching, marketing, running and sustaining profitable businesses while living a life on purpose. I could see myself in every entrepreneurial profile that I wrote, knowing full well what each stage feels like because I have been there too. I created what I call a “Vision Plan”, the business on purpose’s version of a business plan. I added a Client Draw plan focusing on attracting the ideal clients who by serving them, the rewards would be two-fold. I knew I needed to add the “life coaching” part of me to help guide those seeking to fill that emptiness inside that I was so familiar with. Without having meaning and direction in their lives, how could they run a business that would be fulfilling and successful? I created a website, began marketing, creating eBooks and trying to figure out how I could reach those who really needed and could benefit from my help. I truly do yearn to help others, but how was I going to reach them?

I realized that I would have to step out of my comfort zone and truly focus on a home based business for now. I read up on setting up an internet business, hired some help and am now building what I foresee as a new twist to teaching others how to do what I am doing: running a business on purpose as I live a Spiritual life. It is a work in progress, but what I have learned most is to follow that inner voice which has never led me down a wrong path. The best way that I know how to help others help themselves to create a system that has helped me to do what I love best. I am currently in the process of documenting the steps I am taking, noting what is and isn’t working and designing coaching programs around that. I know that it will take time, but I graciously feel that I am living my life with purpose by creating A Business On Purpose. Soon, I know that I will be running a thriving business as I help others to create money making businesses on purpose.
