AJ Nassri’s journey to becoming a thriving entrepreneur started with nothing but a shovel and a vision. During college, he obtained a degree in business management and started his very first venture — snow removal and landscaping.
From 2006 to 2010, Nassri worked with his father at their import/export company. However, shortly after taking over the business in 2010, Nassri picked up his snow shovel and shifted in a new direction: property maintenance.
He realized the need for reliable and detail-oriented property maintenance services during his time in college and wanted to scale that vision into a successful venture. Snow Wrangler was born.
Over the next few years, Nassri grew the business across Ontario, ultimately transitioning into government contracts. As he took on out-of-market contracts, Nassri adopted new technologies and “decentralized the business model to effectively meet the needs of far-away clients while simultaneously supporting municipal economies through local hiring practices.”
The shift toward municipal government contracts kicked the company’s growth into overdrive. Clients gravitate toward Snow Wrangler’s full-service approach to property maintenance.
In addition to offering snow removal, the company also performs comprehensive exterior upkeep and beautification, including landscaping services. Nassri’s holistic business model keeps the company flush with clients all year long. The all-in-one approach to property maintenance aligns with Nassri’s commitment to delivering optimal value to his clients.
In the competitive world of government contracts, providing a wide range of services makes Snow Wrangler an easy choice for many municipalities, as they can manage fewer agreements while also ensuring the jurisdiction’s needs are met reliably.
Here’s what Snow Wrangler looks like today:
- Municipal-Focused: The majority of Snow Wrangler’s clients are municipal governments
- Emergency Response: The company provides emergency and after-hours removal during Ontario’s harsh winters
- Looking to Expand Nationwide: Nassri wants to grow Snow Wrangler across Canada through acquisitions and partnerships
As part of his vision for nationwide growth, Nassri has explored franchising opportunities. However, he found that many lacked his resolve and mission-driven approach to serving clients. Therefore, he has shifted his attention toward strategic partnerships and acquiring local property maintenance businesses so that he can integrate them into the Snow Wrangler ecosystem.
Nassri is also fiercely committed to bettering the world through charitable efforts. In 2012, he engaged in advocacy work and organized aid shipments for Syrian refugees. Over the years, he and his company have supported several nonprofits while helping to coordinate food and used clothing drives for Syrians.
The work of Nassri and these organizations has ensured that thousands of refugees receive vital resources. AJ Nassri has helped establish community centers and services for refugees as they arrive in Canada. He also remains politically active in the Syrian-Canadian community, which demonstrates Nassri’s commitment to addressing the plight of the Syrian people.
Looking ahead, Nassri has his sights set on “exploring new partnerships throughout Canada and in the United States, ultimately taking the company public.” With Nassri at the helm, the future of Snow Wrangler is bright!
