Brigham and Women’s Hospital is expanding women’s health services at its Ambulatory Care Center in Chestnut Hill. The Gretchen S. and Edward A. Fish Center for Women’s Health now includes the Women’s Orthopedic and Joint Disease Center and Women’s Lung Surgery Program. Specialized Care for Women with Musculoskeletal Conditions Directed by rheumatologist Elinor A. Mody, MD, the new Women’s Orthopedic and Joint Disease Center provides specialized, integrated, and innovative care for female patients with joint diseases or injuries. Dedicated rheumatologist and physiatry staff provide comprehensive evaluation and manage referrals to onsite orthopedic surgeons, pain management specialists, and physical therapists.

The Center provides evaluation and treatment for women with all musculoskeletal conditions, including:

Screening and Evaluation for Women with Chest Diseases
Directed by Yolonda L. Colson, MD, PhD, the Women’s Lung Surgery Program provides specialized evaluation, treatment, and patient education for women with known or suspected lung disease, as well as female patients with high risk factors for lung cancer.

Specialists in the Women’s Lung Surgery Program also collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary team of experts in the Thoracic Oncology Program at Dana-Farber/Brigham and Women’s Cancer Center to deliver expert care for patients diagnosed with lung cancer. Women with the following conditions may be referred to the Program for evaluation and treatment:

  • Existing or suspected lung disease, including lung cancer and emphysema;
  • Risk factors for lung cancer, including smoking history, radon exposure, and asbestos exposure.
  • Comprehensive Outpatient Care
    The Brigham and Women’s Ambulatory Care Center in Chestnut Hill offers a full range of outpatient services, including:

    • Allergy and Immunology;
    • Dermatology;
    • Endoscopy;
    • Imaging, including mammography and magnetic resonance imaging;
    • Neurology;
    • Orthopedics and Arthritis;
    • Pain Management;
    • Primary Care;
    • Rehabilitative Services;
    • Women’s Health Services, including cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology (including diabetes treatment), gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology, mental health, musculoskeletal care, nutrition, thoracic surgery, and urogynecology;

    • Laboratory and pharmacy services.
