What is it about you that sets you apart from the masses of the population?

Have you thought of doing something that is considered significant?

Would you like to do something that will be considered significant?

Creating something significant in your life is not just about being successful at what you do. It is also about making an impact and leaving something behind, long after you are gone.

Please pay particular attention to the following question, and answer it from your heart:

What would you like to be remembered for?

Think about this question.

Creating something significant is not measured in dollars, it is measured in the impact that you have on others and on the world.

If you wish to create something significant, please keep one word in mind – “intention”.

Now, you might be aware of the power of intention, and how it has been spoken of in many personal development books. Intention is a very powerful motivating force in human beings. When you are absolutely clear on your intention, you are more likely to excel.

To create something significant, it is your intention that matters the most! Why do you want to do, what you wish to do?

Let me share an example with you. When I was putting together my first book, I realised that a book may/will live forever. It is something that will surely outlive me. I will leave the book behind, when I am no longer here. All that sounds good and well.

Then I thought about creating something more significant than the book itself.

Thankfully, I came across a charity organisation called B1G1. Through B1G1, I was able to donate 10% of royalties (from the book) to my favourite charity – Edgar’s Mission Animal Sanctuary.

This means that even when I am no longer around, every book sold will have a positive impact on Edgar’s Mission.
And, I know that every book that I publish in the future will have the same arrangement. To me, that is something significant.

I clearly remember, a very successful athlete, who had just survived cancer, was once asked about what he would like to be remembered for. Instead of saying “My sports achievements”, he replied “I would like to be remembered as a cancer survivor”.

So, my question to you is this, have you ever thought about creating something significant?

If so, have you done anything about it?
Where are you now, on the road to creating something significant?

If you have not thought about this in the past, then this is your moment!

Please understand that I am not asking you to write a book, or win an Olympic gold medal, or invent something spectacular. All I am suggesting is that you consider doing something significant with your life.

Why?

Because being mediocre is nothing special.

I would love to see you do something that will make you proud of yourself, and will make you feel like you have made a significant contribution towards the world.

So, how exactly do you do that?

Well, I would love to guide you in this.

Please follow this very simple, yet effective process.

1. What do you absolutely love doing? Surely you must love doing something that you are good at. In my case, I love public speaking and writing. So, my speaking and writing skills are what I am good at, and love doing.

2. How can you do what you love doing, to create something significant? Think about a person, an organisation, a group, or a charity who/that would benefit from you. In other words, whom could you have a positive impact on, while doing what you love doing. In this step, you could even discover a way of incorporating what you love doing into a career! You never know who out there is looking for what you have to offer.

3. How would you use what you love doing, to help/support someone/something? In my case, I started speaking and writing for various charities around Australia. My goal was to raise awareness about these charities so that people can support them. Please understand that I am not suggesting that you just do volunteer work, and forget about your career. All I am suggesting is that you can create something significant in many ways. It is about making an impact on society in different ways. There was a lady in Jamaica, who loved baking. Every weekend, she would bake cupcakes for impoverished kids who played for the local cricket club. Do you think that her passion for baking was appreciated by these kids? I can bet that it was!

The people who have made a significant impact on the world are not the ones who were overly talented or skilled. They were simply people who realised how they could use their passion and gift to serve society.

Quote: "What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for others and the world remains and is immortal." Albert Pike

You have something inside you that makes you unique! Use that uniqueness to reach out, and make a positive impact. Create something significant, and be remembered for that!

I hope that I have given you a simple insight into creating something significant.
