The meaning of the word Chakra in Sanskrit is "spinning wheel of energy". The chakras are energy centers within our bodies. Receiving and transmiting energy, each chakra is located within the physical body, at a major endocrine gland, and nerve bundle called a plexus. Each chakra is connected and associated with a different part of the body. There are seven major chakras. Each chakra has a color, and different Chakra crystals and stones are associated with these. Using and understanding your chakras can promote physical, spiritual and emotional health, and can bring energy to your manifestational work.

Modern scientists are only now beginning to recognize what the ancient mystics and wise men have told us for millenia; that everything is in a constant state of vibration, including you. Sound is the most elemental state of vibration. Everything has a peak range of vibration, and that range is known as resonance. When we are in balance, we are in resonance. A way to use sound to heal is to know that every organ and cell, absorbs and emits sound, and has a particular resonant frequency. A very direct way to influence the resonance within the body with sound is by using Chakra healing sounds.

Your mental states and emotions also have certain resonance frequencies; this is the power behind spiritual music and songs, prayers and mantras. Different emotions and mental states of being are also connected to the chakra sound frequencies. When exposed to a Chakra sound healing frequency long enough, the Chakras will balance; and when your Chakras are in balance, so is the rest of you. Chakra healing sounds and binaural beat sound therapy can be useful in realigning the "out of balance frequencies" you may experience within you mind or body, by exposing you to the balancing sound frequencies for the changes you wish to make.

Tibetan singing bowls are used for meditation, prayer, and to induce trance states. Singing bowls in Tibet are the subject of debate and many stories. Some say they were used for meditation, while others say they were magical tools for the transformation of self, and of matter. I believe both are true, and that is why I primarily use Chakra balancing Tibetan Singing Bowls, together with the primal sound of the ocean's waves, to produce the transformational and magical Chakra healing sounds used in my binaural beat Chakra healing sound CDs and MP3s. The organic chakra sounds are unrivaled for inducing a trance state, and by using Tibetan Singing bowls that are attuned to the various Chakras, we can facilitate near magical transformations body, mind and soul.

The traditional Tibetan Singing bowls were made out of a combination of the Seven Alchemical Metals, which correspond to:

Lead - Saturn - 1st Chakra
Iron - Mars - 2nd Chakra
Tin - Jupiter - 3rd Chakra
Gold - Sun - 4th Chakra
Copper - Venus - 5th Chakra
Silver - Moon - 6th Chakra
Mercury - Mercury - 7th Chakra

The Solfeggio frequencies are the original musical sound frequencies used in Ancient Gregorian Chants, like the great hymn to St. John the Baptist. The Gregorian chants and their special Solfeggio musical frequencies were believed to impart tremendous spiritual blessings when sung in harmony during Mass.

The Six Solfeggio Frequencies include:

1. UT - 396 Hz - Liberating Guilt and Fear
2. RE - 417 Hz - Undoing Situations and Facilitating Change
3. MI - 528 Hz - Transformation and Miracles (DNA Repair)
4. FA - 639 Hz - Connecting/Relationships
5. SOL - 741 Hz - Awakening Intuition
6. LA - 852 Hz - Returning to Spiritual Order

These frequencies are said to have many spiritual, psychological and physical healing benefits. For instance, 528 Hz, corresponds to the note MI on the Western musical scale, and is derived from the Latin phrase MI-ra gestorum, which means "miracle". Perhaps it is no coincidence, this is the same frequency used by geneticists to repair broken DNA, the blueprint upon which all life is based!

In another coincidence, the Solfeggio frequencies correspond to the Chakra tones, with the Crown Chakra resonating at 960 Hz. My Chakra Healing Sound programs utilize the various Chakra tones associated with the Solfeggio frequencies, to help heal you, body, mind and soul.
