It is often when we are short of money, when another relationship has gone wrong or we lose our job, we are made to stop and think! It is problems and adversity that makes us stop and ask questions. It also makes us take stock, search further or look at developing something new or change track. Adversity is often the force that makes us expand, to develop further talents and abilities and puts us on our right path.
It is Tough going through the Process
The phrases of ‘these things are meant to try us’, ‘it’s meant to be’, ‘what does not kill you make you stronger’ maybe true, but are useless and quite annoying when you are going through a crisis. When we look back from the situation, we can see the truth and appreciate the lesson, but it is no fun at all going through it! The real point is how we handle it, how we behave and react to it. The whole process will bring out our strengths and expose our weaknesses. Problems or crisis’s are ways of moving us out of our comfort zone so we can grow and develop further. The real gem is when we can see and understand what this has brought about.
The Gods of Change
It is often adversity that brings a person to an astrologer. A look at the Birth Chart highlights the situation, usually by transits from the outer planets of Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. These are the Gods of change that are connected to our Soul, our growth and our purpose. In their own different ways they shake us up and move us on. They challenge our old security structures that are holding us back and preventing new growth coming through.
To use another phrase; ‘Crisis is change screaming to happen’. This is so appropriate and although the Gods of change are symbols for this affect, it is the seed within us that knows it must grow and it is time for change. Although we rarely know this as we go through this painful process.
The Different Levels of Adversity
Psychical, emotional and mental are the different levels we go through in any crisis; each affecting the other, which often brings about inner change and adjustment.
Adversity can be steps toward new opportunities.
Looking from the eyes of an astrologer, I see that the problems or crisis at a deeper level as new shoots of growth. The problem is often letting go of our old form of security, which is far from easy for any of us! Something is trying to emerge within that always corresponds with a transit in the Birth Chart. It can and often does lead to new opportunities or it can put you in a place where your talents and skills can grow. It can also force someone to broaden their mindset and develop new skills. There are many variations but it is always appropriate to the uniqueness of the individual’s growth. The Universe is so clever and so are we at our core level. There is an essence in us that knows we most grow and become what we are meant to be. This 'essence' is what the Gods of change are aligned to and help to implement.
