There seems to be a lack of tangible tenderness in the world today. Yet, there also seems to be a deep yearning in the hearts of humanity in this moment of time for nothing more than the need for others to be tender. “Tender”, in the context of this article, means to be kind, caring, concerned, positive, and loving towards the needs, desires, and feelings of another. To be tender to those we love is something that we are meant to be doing on a daily basis. To be tender to humanity in general seems to be quite a difficult concept for a lot of us to grasp.

Look at the dissention in the U.S. government all because of the horrendous state of the economy (this is as of August 2011.) How has it happened that the most highly-appointed individuals cannot find it within their conscience to work together, compromise, and truly care enough about people to make our country the highly-regarded power it once was? We are downgraded in credibility and have become a “shame” in the eyes of the world, in many instances. How, as a country, can we be an example for others to follow when we aren’t even being an example for ourselves or our loved ones to follow?

Tangible tenderness, in this author’s perspective means that we take action. Don’t just talk off the top of our heads, trying to appease others. Don’t say things we have no intention of doing, whatsoever. Do what we say we are going to do. Take the time, the effort, and the responsibility to be men and women of honor, of repute, and of positive intention.

Our world is a place of instant gratification. We constantly see the “me-me-me” mentality of believing the world revolves around each of us individually. It’s a pathetic state of affairs if the truth be told. How did we get like this? The world wasn’t like that sixty years ago. That wasn’t eons ago, was it? Shoot, it's been within the lifetime of some of us right now! The universal thoughts of all humanity are literally just millions and millions of vibrations of energy. Thought is nothing but energy, multiplied and spread throughout the world. Each person’s thoughts have the scientifically-proven effect of travelling a distance of twenty-five miles and therefore, having an influence on anything it encompasses. Because of this, the thoughts of all humanity are spread and envelope everything they touch. That’s why the speakers and teachers of New Thought (which isn’t truly new at all, as science has been around for eons – and of course, energy and vibrational frequencies like thought - are definitely scientific), teach us that there is a Universal Consciousness.

Our thoughts of tenderness or the lack thereof, are what we see in the world around us. Everything we think literally shows up in the world as the result of our thoughts. Why is it that we cannot go deeper into our souls and wake up? Why is it that we choose to walk around with our eyes wide shut? All it takes, literally, is one individual to touch off a spark - to be the living, breathing example of conscious awareness – in order for the rest of the world to catch the spark and repeat that consciousness.

Tenderness in all its varied meanings is not difficult. Anything positive, accepting, congenial, helpful, and meaningful is way easier to reflect and much more beneficial for society at large. There’s enough negativity, chaos, bitterness, anger, and hatred in the world to last a million lifetimes. Why would we choose all that darkness (which has no vibrational frequency at all, by the way ), when all we need do is flip our perspective and spread some agreement, mutually beneficial compromise, and acceptance? That’s just some food for thought.
