Who does not want to be happy? Everybody wants to live happily. No need to survey the world on that. The real question is how? Honestly, there are so many ways to be happy. Possibly, there are millions. It is a bit overwhelming, isn’t it? We live in a world where rest amounts to eating while still working and sleeping is dreaming of our day-to-day troubles. Ways to be happy may not be easy to grasp. Good thing, I made a mnemonic for you to easily remember that in terms of being happy you should be H-A-P-P-Y!

Heart desires matter
Your heart desire is where your happy place is. It doesn’t matter what, where, when or how as long as you do what it takes to achieve it on a daily basis. Be mindful that to attain the state of being happy, you have to make it a habit. It is said that it takes 21 days to train yourself into making a task into a habit. If you do this in a lifetime, imagine how blissful your life would be. Happiness and a strong sense of emotional vitality help lower your risk of heart disease, another bonus, so control your cardiac health through diet, exercise and managing stress.

Artsy fartsy time
There are times when you need to do art. Not just sit and watch it happens. I know that there is something magical watching a movie unravel before your very eyes. But the greatest magic of all is done by the hands. Magicians use a lot of hand gestures if you will notice their tricks. It can be in any forms – paint, collage, sculpture, pottery, graphic designs and much more. You will surely give yourself a pat on the back once you’re done doing your artwork for that high satisfaction feeling.

Pain is subjective
Pain is the fifth vital sign. And it is highly subjective. You can never assure another person that “you know how it feels” because truthfully, you don’t. Now that you know this, you also have to know that your mind works wonders if you focus on the good. Manage pain to lessen it whether it is physical, mental, or emotional. Remember, mind over matter. Though, seeking professional help won’t hurt especially is needed.

Pay close attention to what’s important
What is important to you may not be important to others. Universally, loved ones are very important. Spend time with your family and friends. Have a vacation at the beach or simply dine in and watch movies together. Studies show that togetherness brings confidence knowing that someone will back you up. It makes someone emotionally-well knowing that you belong in loving a group or community with the same purpose and aspirations.

Young at heart
Childishly is different from child-like. You are childish if you overreacted on your son coloring outside the outline of his activity book. You are child-like if you join him to do the same. See the difference? You stressed yourself over your son’s minute mistake instead of just enjoying it with him. Be young at heart for a kid sees life as simple as it is, with a smile on his face. Regardless of age, you are not too old or too young to be grateful and affirm God’s blessings. As the saying goes, count your rainbows, not your thunderstorms.

Happiness is perpetually up to you. With all the tips and how-tos others given you, if you do not decide to be happy, you will never be. Now you have been given this easy to remember ways. Stay HAPPY!
