Neelam is known with several other names such as Sauri Ratna, Shanipriya, and Yakut, but Blue Sapphire remains the most prominent of all. While Sauri Ratna and Shanipriya define its divine association with planet Saturn, Blue Sapphire says a lot about its color properties. As the name precisely suggests, it prominently comes in Neelam or blue color, and its various other shades such as sky blue and pink.
Sources
India, Russia, America, Sri Lanka, and Thailand are the prominent sources of this stone. In India, it is found in Kashmir. The form found there is referred as ‘Mayur Neelam’ because its color is similar to the color of a peacock’s neck. Amongst the various forms found at these different places, those found in Sri Lanka are considered to be the best of the lot.
Forms
Neelam stone is of two forms, Indranil and Jalnil. The former form is found in dark blue color, which is similar to the color of a peacock’s neck. The latter form has dark shades of blue color as its borders, and little less intense blue in the middle.
Impact: Intense and Quick
In early times, kings and rulers used to possess this stone with a purpose of protecting themselves from others’ envy and anger. Besides this particular aspect, there are few other aspects of essence to this stone. Neelam holds an ability to make extremely intense impact in quick time. In fact, it is the quickest of all the nine planetary gemstones. This attribute has derived it with a popular tag of ‘Gem of Destiny’. Though, its impact varies from one person to another, it has been confirmed many a times that it can make its presence felt within a matter of seconds, in some or the other way.
A Stone, Not For Everyone
However, this should not be the mere grounds of having this stone. This stone is not meant to be worn by everyone. It can act to be too fatal for some, and therefore, one should possess it only after taking an astrological consultation. Also, initially, it should be worn for shorter periods and on trial basis. In that short period, it quite precisely reflects that whether it would prove to be favorable or unfavorable for a person. Usually, it gets reflected by the kind of dreams which one gets during that period. Pleasant dreams confirm its aptness, and nightmares confirm its unsuitability for a person.
When It Acts In Favor
When it is confirmed to be favorable for a person, it can act to be extremely effective. It can ward off all stains of poverty and can confer enormous wealth and prosperity in the desired amount. Also, the wealth which one had lost sometime in the past gets restored. It also confers long fruitful life with good health, true happiness, and prevalent name and fame. Positivity and good results arrive in every frame of life. One also gains clarity of thought. It brings an immediate conclusion to all life problems. It helps one overcome undue apprehensions, addictions, despair, and anger. Also, it keeps all physical and mental health problems at bay.
Association with Saturn
Neelam is the planetary stone of Saturn. Saturn is the most malefic of all the nine astrological planets. When it gets ill-placed, everything goes wrong in one’s life. There are too many sufferings and too many failures to be borne by one. Those, who are under Saade Saati impact or are under the influence of a weak or malefic Saturn, can bring this stone in use to overcome the malefic influences as created. Otherwise, when Saturn is positioned positively, it strengthens its position and makes it act further in favor of a person.
Important Things to Remember
The nature of energies as reflected by Neelam stone are contradictory to the energies reflected by Pearl, Ruby, and Coral stones. Therefore, while you are wearing Blue Sapphire, make sure to not possess any of these three stones in any form. To ensure long life of this tone, bring it off from your hand, whenever you are going to expose it to some chemical or chemical substance, such as cleansing agent. Also, take extra care to ensure that it does not get cracked or unblemished in any form, as an unblemished Neelam might act adversely on its wearers.
Rules of Wearing It
For astrology based purpose, make sure to have Blue Sapphire stone of at least 3 Ratti, preferably in either silver or iron. Around two hours before sunset, wear ring in the middle finger of your left hand while devotedly chanting the associated Mantra of “Om Aim Hreem Shaneharaya Namah".
