Counting blessings is good. Gratitude for the blessings kicks it up into the stratosphere. Gratitude is connecting with the Infinite source of all goodness.
See a beautiful tree--be grateful. Say “Thank you.” A bright sunshiny day--say “Thank you.” A rainy day--say “Thank you.” A new insight--say “Thank you.” Your paycheck--say “Thank you.” Be grateful for the great and small throughout your day.
For no specific reason at all, say, “Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” silently to yourself. It washes happy feelings all over you. Check it out for yourself. Synch it up with your breathing. Breathe in, “Thank.” Breathe out, “You.” “Thank you.” Magic words.
Do you give yourself approval upon awakening in the morning, and upon your head hitting the pillow at night? Life changing, practical advice, and say, silently, to yourself, “Thank you,” “Thank you,” “Thank you,” a great way to start and end your day.
Feeling a little off? Not sure what to do about it? You’ve tried everything that’s been said above? You’ve asked yourself, “If you could let go of wanting change what is going on?” and are still feeling a little off? Try this. Take out a piece of paper. Start at the top. Write “Thank you.” Write “Thank you” all the way across the page. Keep going all the way across and down the page until the entire sheet is full of the words “Thank you.” You can guess what happens by the time you get to the bottom of the page.
What about saying “Thank you” to people nose to nose? It’s truly NOT possible to say “Thank you” too much, is it? Saying “thank you” is a mini gift you give to your self or to another and it doesn’t cost a dime.
Do you write “thank you” notes? Real, handwritten, “thank you” notes? Congratulations to you if you said, “Yes.” It’s a forgotten art. Technology has changed our world in so many ways; in many good ways; and many, maybe not so good ways. Emailing is so easy and so quick. We dash off a “Thank you” email in 10-seconds. That’s if we’re slow at it. There’ nothing really wrong with that. It’s still better than not saying, “Thank you.”
Our handwritten notes, kick up our “Thank you” to a higher level--a more meaningful level--a more personal level. Handwritten notes make the gift of your “Thank you” even more valuable for the person who receives it—especially if it includes a stamp on the envelope. Some people go to the Post Office and buy special stamps. Some people use special paper or note cards. And their gestures of jotting down a few words of gratitude, appreciation, and saying “Thank you” allow the recipient to feel special. The recipient (and also the note-writer) also feels gratitude.
Gratitude, in all expressions, opens everyone towards positive and becoming aware of more gifts to be grateful for receiving. Gratitude is ALWAYS a sense of giving. Gratitude is also the same energy as Love. You get what you give. It boomerangs back to you. Lester Levenson has said, “If we only see positive in our self, and in others, and in all situations, that is all that we would experience.” He has also said, “Square all with love. When the love is complete, all problems will dissolve.”
It is helpful to maintain a constant attitude of gratitude. Say “Thank you” for considering these practical suggestions that move you in the direction of more and more happiness. Other practical actions, not mentioned here, although probably came to you as you were reading, include being a “LOVE” broadcaster. Say, “I love you! I am you.” And by sincerely offering--spoken out loud or silently, and saying, “Thank you” or “I love you.” is always about moving into higher energy and looking to have a peaceful and positive resolution with no expectation of anything in return.
On behalf of all who have taken the time to read this article, we graciously say “Thank you.” We also wish you a WONDERFUL, PEACEFUL and PROSPEROUS today!
